Matthew 5: 11-15

New King James Version (NKJV)

11 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.13 You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to allwho are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Really, that is enough said.
I am Blessed!
I am the light of the world!

You are Blessed!!
YOU are the LIGHT of the WORLD!!.....The World.....WOW!!
Not the light of your home, your church, your job, your family, your circle of friends, your city, your state, not even your nation!
But the LIGHT OF THE WORLD!!!

I think for me, it's time to step back and look at the bigger picture. I have been so hung up on focusing on JUST those in my immediate circle of contact....to be even more painfully honest....actually trying to limit my contact, so I wouldn't "burn-out" ......
WOW....Light of the WORLD.
Just looking at the number of those I reach in my daily walk....that is just a fraction of a fraction of the number in the WORLD, so "burn-out" at my rate is impossible!
I risk more of a "burn-out", due to me smothering or trying to conceal my own light with my own "basket" of life.
If I remove that basket of life (my own personal daily struggles) that would give my flame oxygen to burn brighter!
That gives me the opportunity to look outside of myself, home, and family, to reach another....and maybe....just possibly....shine some light in their darkness to guide them in the right direction unto our Lord and Savior!
Although, it does gets hard sometimes.....with the daily struggles and persecutions. If we try to stay focused on that Word above: that we are BLESSED, when they revile and persecute us! I can rejoice and be glad, because I know, great is my reward in Heaven! So, should you!
I have to remind myself of this when I get down, and allow the stress of life to hinder my light. I have to encourage myself in the Lord as David did. So that I may be of encouragement to others that may cross my path.
The bottom line, it's not just all about me, my troubles, my family, and my circle. There's a bigger picture....
I am the light of the WORLD!!!!! It's time to let this little light of mine, Shine!!
So, that they may see my good works and glorify my Father in heaven!!!
What about you?
